Chetvertaya Planeta aka The Fourth Planet is a Russian film from 1995
Three astronauts, two Russians and an American, find a very Soviet-alike small town on the fourth planet from Sun.
This is about as much as I can tell you right now but its probably enough to be getting on with.

When they`re painted silver like this they remind me a lot of the UFO alien mk2 helmets with the opening visor.

Agree, painted up, I too was reminded of the UFO helmets. I'm thinking they might have been the inspiration behind the design? I draw your attention to the horizontal ridges on the GSH and then the vertical ridges on the UFO being a cheeky little design nod. Also the whole visor thing is very reminiscent. Thanks for the other stuff, I'll go add the labels.
