...4 ...3 ...2 ...1 ...Morte is an Italian film from 1967 or
Mission Stardust to give it its American dubbed title. It's a not especially loved interpretation of a Perry Rhodan adventure and sees a team of astronauts sent to the moon to rescue an alien who is seeking help to save her dying race.

Holy Brazen Bustline! Look at the blazen padded bra on that one!
ReplyDeleteYou can spot that Italian art direction a mile off--I especially like that they put little silver Dalek bumps on the woman's breasts! I somehow missed this one when I had my little Italo-Roman SF bender last year. I'll have to look it up!
ReplyDeletethe moon buggy in the top picture looks like it was designed by Dr Seuss
ReplyDeleteI would not drive it with a loon...I would not drive it on the moon
ReplyDeleteVery good
ReplyDeleteThe black suit is imitating the torso and helmet of the real-life Litton suits. But its designer has punted rather than duplicate that suit's impressive rolling-convolute arms.
ReplyDeleteThe 1958 version of the suit in the National Museum of the Air Force (my nation, not yours) has rather simple rubber trousers, as leg mobility was not critical for its original application. It allowed engineers to fiddle with the guts of experimental vacuum-tube circuits while standing inside the vacuum chamber. Spaceflight came later.
Nice suit spotting there, Sir. Did they imitate or use one of the originals. Quite a number of real suits found their way into film and tv back in the day. One to ponder.
