Jupiter Ascending (2015)

Not had the pleasure of this film yet and it's not especially high on my get-round-to-it list either.  Still, this must be one of the most fancy-pants space suits we've seen in recent years, so hats off for doing something a little different

Have a closer look...

  1. I kinda watched it, it's not a particularly grabby flick. Matter of fact, it was so un-engaging, my attention drifted quite quickly and I pulled out a paperback to read. Maybe if I'd had some popcorn and some beer, I'd have had better luck with it.

    1. Agreed, despite all the obvious money spent on it it really didnt grab my attention either, the Wachowskis have had a bit of a hit and miss record, one of the more oddball ones they did recently was Cloud Atlas which is worth seeing if only for hugo weaving in drag and hugh grant in make up that makes him look almost utterly unrecognizable

    3. I liked Bound and the first Matrix but it seems to have gone down hill after that. I'll give Cloud Atlas a viewing when it come on TV. Otherwise Jupiter Ascending sounds like one of those films you put on while doing the ironing Sunday morning or in the afternoon when falling asleep after a big lunch... oh dear!

  2. It's visually spectacular, and kind of fun if you turn off your brain.

Partly set in Chicago (Yay! Chicago!) and features a frenetic aerial chase through the city that ends with a crash outside the lobby of the familiar Hyatt Regency, where I have attended four Worldcons. So THAT was fun.

  3. To me it felt like a less coherent, not as entertaining, Guardians Of The Galaxy. I mean they tried too hard and made it a movie that just was bad and not in a good way. Pluto Nash is Shakespeare compared to this.
