Some very cool suits from the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The many colours are a bit of a homage to Kubricks 1968 movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Its really great to see you back,I was getting worried. Did you see my comment in the outland suits,I`d found a 1995 appearance by 6 of them in the movie Project Shadow Chaser 3.This looks to have been probably their last [known] appearance, pretty cool that 14 years after the original movie some of the suits were still floating around out there. What did you think of the 2001 style suits from the 1977 czech film Tomorrow I'll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea (Zítra vstanu a opařím se čajem)? Personally I quite liked them. https://www.rikrek.com/data/movies/pictures/35294/1024/t2UHuoTc23cFKUdRYbwhEde3Yqd.jpg https://img.fdb.cz/null.gif The julia one was pretty crazy as I couldnt even remember the name of the series, but I stumbled across the name, went and watched the intro on youtube and thought that looks like it,checked out the episode guide, found the likely sounding episode and watched it and it all came flooding back and lo and behold it was the Lost in space suit. Another one that bothered me that I finally found the answer to was a suit that appeared in an episode of the far out space nuts, they had previously used the lost in space helmets, but this was something new.It turned out that it was a biohazard suit from the movie The Satan Bug https://media.gettyimages.com/id/181329699/photo/george-maharis-wears-a-space-suit-in-a-scene-from-the-film-the-satan-bug-1965.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=VuApxYc01IwtRDOJa_xvmVbjdh3YId-NssSHaL7Fg_k=
This is crazy, just now while I was looking for a pic of the suit from the Satan Bug I found one from Marooned [1969] and I realised its got the same weird style of construction as the suits used in Earth II [1971],the Astronaut [1972],Top of the Heap [1972],plus episodes of the 6 million dollar man and it was used in modified form in the series Salvage. Heres a link to some pics I`ve put together showing the similarity with the weird "chin strap" style of construction, its the only helmet that I`ve ever seen constructed in this "inside out" way https://i.postimg.cc/qMJtHQnn/spacesuit-similar.jpg We`re still discovering new stuff....
Hi Tim. yep, all good here, thank you I don't spend quite so much time on my laptop in the evenings because i spend all day on the works one. Consequently i try to give the eyes a rest.. and then before you know it months have passed. I did read back through the comments and have made a list of future posts that i have started working through. As always, very appreciative for all your discoveries. its true though, this cultural archaeology of spacesuits seems to be never ending which is just great and what I hoped when i started doing the blog... let alone all the new ones. i shall make the effort to catch up on my "homework" and again; a giant thank you for your ongoing interest and support.
