Brian the Brain is the ninth episode of the second series of Space 1999 and sees one of the more unusual spacesuits variations.

I like a bit of clever recycling of props and costumes but what disturbs me about Koenig's back pack is that whatever it is, there's another one pained grey and stuck to the wall directly in front of him.
Well spotted!. Heres a good looking prop I found that hopefully will be featured on screen https://www.flickr.com/photos/88128604@N00/sets/72157626376469300/with/5631054275/ http://propnomicon.blogspot.com/2013/09/prop-spacesuit.html http://awsmblog.com/2011/04/18/original-cosplay-terranaut.html
Yeah, I've stumbled across that a couple of times. It is very cool looking and really should wind up in somebody's short film. Something else that good enough to wind up on screen is this... http://dalekstorm.deviantart.com/art/STORM-Dalek-1-173714113 Stunning work
I`ve just spotted those very same backpacks/wall mouldings in another show from around the same time period, its 1976s Star Maidens Ep09:What have they done to the rain[1:48]. https://youtu.be/Dt8aCEbtBLs?t=108 This is a weird show even for 70s sf.In the scenes set on the alien world of medusa it has a real space 1999 vibe in terms of the sets and design, but done on a much, much smaller [Dr Who] budget.I can remember reading that the same people were involved on both shows and that occasionally props and other things were borrowed from space1999 for this show. I really wish that it had come to my neck of the woods back when I was 6 or 7,I`d have taken it completely seriously,as one does at that age,but sadly we didnt.....which is rather strange as we got pretty much all the rest of the british sf shows of that period. Oh well.....
Hi Tim. Star Maidens is a terrible old bit of tat but I do love it. Snapped up the DVD a few years ago when it first became available because - from my research - there were only two small areas of the British ITV regions that never played it and I grew up in one of them. Much like you, I know I would have totally gone for it had I have seen it at the correct age. I've made up for lost time though by getting hold of the novelisation and the annual but I still feel I was robbed of some fantastic childhood memories. LOL!
Well spotted!.
