Crack in the World is a disaster movie about scientists who launch a rocket into the Earth's core to research its geothermal energy and accidentally unleash a cataclysmic destruction upon the world. Its an American production, shot in Spain over a seven week period and has absolutely no spacesuits in it...
However the more eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise the helmets seen here on these volcanologists as the
Men in to Space helmets which are seen repeatedly popping up in other productions through the 60s, 70s and 80s ....and this is just one more.
Cheers for the find Dave

Damn!,these suits really got around, didnt they?.I wonder where they are now...hopefully not thrown out, they really deserve to be in a museum somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe second pic kinda makes chuckle, the fitting the guy is suspended from looks a lot like a bent coat hanger,in my opinion anyway.
Oh,I also just saw the bladerunner sequel last week and I didnt think it was to bad actually..I even enjoyed it,which is more than I can say for Alien Covenant, tho the suits in that were nice especially the hardsuit.Interestingly Bladerunner 2049 does have one of those:Not actually a spacesuit but.. right at the beginning of the movie at the protein farm, its probably some sort of hazmat suit but I thought it looked pretty cool.

I think it could be a contender for the "Not actually.." category.
Blade Runner II looks pretty I'm just not sure what the point of it was. I shall watch it again though. Still got to watch Covenant at some time
