The Best Short Stories of Fredric Brown (1982)

The Best Short Stories of Fredric Brown 1982 NEL edition with art by Tim White.  And here it is again in full glory.  An amazing piece of work.

You know what its like; you wait you whole life to see a mouse in a space suit and then two come along at the same time

  1. This jogged my memory, and then it came to me - for some reason the mouse was used by The Power House, a British 8-bit software company, as their mascot. It's a crude cut-out, which raises the question of whether they licensed the art at all or just hoped that no-one would notice.

With these old sci-fi book covers I often wonder if the artist made them on spec, or if they were painted for something else, or if they were specially commissioned. Most of them ended up in those wonderful Terran Trade Authority books (SpaceBase 2000, Star Wreck etc).
