Woman in the Moon (1929)

Frau im Mond is a silent German film that premiered 15 October 1929. It is often considered to be one of the first "serious" science fiction films. It was written and directed by Fritz Lang, based on the novel Die Frau im Mond.  It was released in the USA as By Rocket to the Moon and in the UK as Woman in the Moon.

2001 - A Space Odyssey - Behind the scenes. (1968)

Just a great picture.  Not quite behind the scenes in the usual sense.  From what I can find out, this is a test shot of one of the primitive men from the films opening scene before Stanley decided he wanted something even more primitive and less evolved.  Definitely the correct decision but what an image.
