If you had one of these then you could dress him up to have a Bionic Adventure.  He'd look like this...

 

Although a much loved toy from my childhood I never actually had this particular set.  Its very cool.

Six Million Dollar Man - The Rescue of Athena One (1974)

Steve Austin is launched into space to rescue two astronauts stranded in a crippled space capsule

Six Million Dollar Man - Population: Zero (1974)

Season one, episode 1 from January 1974.  When Steve and Oscar investigate the death of the entire population of a small town, they are contacted by a scientist, once employed by the government, who is set on revenge for past grievances. Demanding $10 million or he will strike again, Steve must find and stop him

Six Million Dollar Man - The Moon and the Desert (1973)

Steve Austin is an astronaut who has made three moon landings. In a test flight accident caused by a malfunctioning centre stick, his right arm is severed, his left eye is blinded, and both legs must be surgically amputated. Steve Austin’s personal physician, Dr. Rudy Wells, has theorised about the creation of a cyborg through the installation of bionic parts. He is persuaded by an OSI agent to reconstruct his patient/friend with the understanding that Steve Austin will subsequently work for OSI.... and so it begins.  The Six Million Dollar Man.  The Moon and the Desert is the first of the TV movies which then lead into a five season TV series and ended with a further 3 TV movies as well as spawning the spin series The Bionic Woman. 

Very much a part of growing up in the 70's.  Good stuff.

Six Million Dollar Man - Dark Side of the Moon (1977)

A  two part story from season five of The Six Million Dollar Man (1977) in which Steve Austin is sent to the moon to investigate an orbital shift which is causing major upheavals in the Earth's climate. It turns out the upheavals are caused by a deranged scientist working at an exploration post on a nearby asteroid.

The Six Million Dollar Man - Deadly Countdown (1977)

Deadly Countdown was a two part story from the 5th Season of the massively popular TV show The Six Million Dollar Man.

This story is most noted by its fans for the fact that it featured Martin Caiden, author of the the original 1972 novel; Cyborg which is the book on which the show and the character of Steve Austin was based.

For men of a certain age, myself included, it's real point of interest is that it also guest stars British actress Jenny Agutter.

And to followers of this blog I should probably note the space suits.  Which keener eyed folk than me report as being genuine Apollo A7l suits on loan from NASA.
