Way... Way Out (1966) - A Gallery

 What a fantastic image.

Quatermass (1979) - Part 2

This is Quatermass part 2 in as much as its the second spacesuit seen in the TV show but actually features in episode 3 of Quatermass IV, unless you are more familiar with the film edit which is known as Quatermass: The Conclusion.  Confused yet?  All you really need to know is it's very good.
These suits are on screen a little longer and seen much more clearly than the Russian Cosmonaut who dies in episode 1, as viewed through a TV monitor, and blogged previously.
Anyway, what we are looking at here is a "ventilation suits", as seen in various other films, shows and pop videos of the time.  This looks like its been lined and padded and has had a few extra details added such as silver cuffs and some forearm controls buttons.  It's an impressive job!

Danger: Diabolik (1968)

As part of our occasional feature of;  "Not Really A Spacesuit but..." I would like to present one of the stylishly super cool outfits as worn by John Phillip Law in 1968's Danger: Diabolik
I would like you to study them at length and pay no attention to Diabolik's super sexy girlfriend; Eva Kant.  This was not a feeble excuse to show pictures of the delightful Merisa Mell as that would be cheap and beneath us all.

This post is dedicated to all the people that have made my blog posts on Saturn 3 the most viewed of all posts during the 5 years of doing Say; Hello Spaceman by almost double those of any other post.  Because we all know that Saturn 3 has the very best spacesuits ever and there's no other reason it might be quite so popular

.....is there!

The Twilight Zone - Voices in the Earth (1987)

Voices in the Earth is the 19th episode of the second season of the rebooted Twilight Zone anthology sci-fi series.
In the far future an expedition returns to a desolate barren Earth where a scientist begins to see the ghosts of those who died years before.

These are indeed the same suits that can be seen in - (if you were ever unlucky enough to catch it!) - the 1994 Roger Corman version of Marvel's Fantastic Four film from back in a time before people realised that if you were respectful to the source material then you could have a big hit on your hands (Snigger! Yes I'm laughing at you 2015 version)
As a point of interest this episode also features the lovely Jenny Agutter who's semi and completely nude scenes, viewed at an impressionable age, in Walkabout, Logan's Run, Equus and An American Werewolf in London, launched more fantasies than all the spacesuits featured in this blog
...... Just saying.

Quatermass (1979)

A few seconds from episode one; The destruction of Russian and American space crafts as viewed from the TV studio monitors. (i.e. the images are poor by default).  Highly recommend the TV show but don't go to it looking for spacemen because this is it.

Daleks il futuro tra un milione di anni (1966)

Italian film poster for Daleks il futuro tra un milione di anni or Daleks Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. as we call it round our way.  What's interesting though is that similar to the Italian Heirs of King Kong poster, this too has an added space person from a completely different film.  In this case I think the added "sex appeal" is from Battle in Outer Space aka The Great Space War.

Anybody know of any others?

Stargate SG-1 - Season 9, Episode 20: Camelot (2006)

I watched an episode or two of Stargate SG1 once upon a time and didn't really take with it.  Is it worth revising my opinion and giving it all another go?  I liked the movie but the episode I saw seemed a bit knock off Star Trek.  There's clearly more to it than that though otherwise it would never have run as long as it did.  What am I missing?
