Space Precinct - Double Duty (1994)

Very early appearance of Idris Elba in a show that no one really remembers or talks about.  I certainly don't.  In this very brief role Idris played a pizza delivery man because everybody has to start somewhere

Fantastic Four (1994)

Roger Corman's unreleased super hero movie based on the Marvel Comics characters.  It's part stinker and part valiant attempt.  Ultimately its a big old fail but then I'd argue that the two later versions don't quite hit the spot either.  We'll probably get a reboot sometime soon but until then let us feast upon four fantastic shiny space suits... that look a lot like fire safety outfits to me.

The Simpsons - Deep Space Homer (1994)

Deep Space Homer is the 15th episode of The Simpsons' 5th season and first aired on February 24, 1994.  You've probably seen it.

As well as guest starring real life astronauts; Buzz Aldrin, astronaut Edward Lu asked for a copy of the episode to be sent on a supply ship to the International Space Station where it remains there for fellow astronauts to view.

Put Yourself in My Place by Kylie Minogue - Video (1994)

Images from a music video.  Thank you Tim for the pointer.  It's a lovely gift; Kylie in a Spacesuit/Kylie getting out of a spacesuit.- Nice.

A little ashamed to say I was unaware of this video.  Which is the kind of crime they kick you out of the Men's Club for.  It's clearly inspired by the Barbarella opening sequence but in a good way that just makes you wish they would make more Barbarella films
All aboard

Don't need this big bulky thing anymore, thinks Kylie

And then she continues to take even more off in a perfectly innocent a zero-G strip and why shouldn't she she's all alone

O'oh! Space perverts on the starboard bow

It's alright Kylie's got a remedy for that.

...and steams the little tinkers right off the hull.

Down to just her space panties and even they are on their way off

All kinds of naked now and just about to grab a nice big space blanket when she spots one last tenacious voyeur (or did she know he was there all the time, the little minx)

..and shuts him out before going to bed.

It's all on Youtube, and other similar places, so go have a little look-see but don't get upset with me if you find you've wasted a hour of your life watching all the available Kylie videos.

Something for the weekend?

Babylon 5 - Babylon Squared. (1994)

How do I feel about Babylon 5?

Well, casting my mind back I can tell you I was too busy watching Star Trek Deep Space Nine to find the time to watch another show that seemed to be covering very similar ground.  And the bits I had seen seemed kind of, well; meh!  I also happened to be working in a comic book store at the time it was on British TV so I was also constantly hassled by fans of the show, nagging me into giving it another go because I would love it, apparently!  Well I didn't. I still haven't. And can't see as I ever will.

And what's really odd is that; meh! still remains my most succinct explanation as to why I feel such indifference to the programme.

Anyway it has spacesuits in it and one in particular that seems to look a lot like a 2001 spacesuit, and I do like those so I'll give it some blog space.

Quite nice isn't it.

They clearly thought so themselves because it pops up again in the 3rd season two-parter; War Without End. (1996)

If any Bab-fivers (Is that what you call yourselves?) out there want to let me know more about this suit and why it looks a lot like one of Kubrick's creations I would be very grateful for the knowledge share.
