For All Mankind - season 2 (2021)

Season two of For All Mankind is every bit as brilliant a continuation of the ongoing alternative reality TV show where the space race just kept on going.

Here are some more lovely images of the spacesuits and tech as seen on the lunar landscape but there are also some wonderful human stories told throughout the 10 episodes as characters struggle to make it to the moon against all sorts of issues and prejudices.  Masterful storytelling.

  1. Why are they all wearing red stripes? Those are used so you can tell one astronaut from another. Shouldn't they at least be a different colour?

    1. I was going to say it denotes the military trained ones but looking at the images and knowing who are in the suits, thats not true so ... its just a fashion thing ?

  2. I`m very glad to see that you`re still alive.....I was beginning to wonder.

On the spacesuit side of things I think I might`ve solved another mystery.
I was looking at the suits from the 79 tv show Salvage 1,and I`m convinced that these are actually the apollo type suits that we originally saw in the 1971 pilot for the tv show Earth II [plus episodes of the 6 million dollar man and some other stuff].
When you see the helmet in profile it has that same slightly flattened look to it.The big difference is that the odd chin strap [owing to the oddball inside out construction method] has been covered over and a larger neck ring has been fitted, but I`d bet anything that its the same one

One of the reasons I`ve always been curious about this particular helmet was because of its very odd construction method.Essentially it was made inside out, with the body of the helmet being a perspex bubble of some kind with a very thin plastic shell being fitted over the perspex.Very strange and quite unlike any other prop helmet construction that I`d ever seen, indeed owing to the odd shape I have to wonder if it was basically some store bought item[maybe a goldfish bowl?].I`d love to know the story behind it.
Anyway its great to see you back....
