Here's a fantastic spaceman themed illustration called "help" that features an alien helping a wounded astronaut. It was created by Deviant Art user Svjeeta, and is magical.
Lovely... But, are we sure who's the alien here? Those guys in the weird headpieces and loincloths, look 100% human in parts and proportions but we can't be so sure about the humanoid shape in the spacesuit.
I tried emailing you, but the email was returned as undeliverable.
One suit/helmet you have missing is the USAF K-1 low-pressure helmet, part of the C-2 (?) high-altitude suit from the 1950s. It appeared in several films, most notably The Angry Red Planet.
ALso, I didn't see this mentioned, but the "Lost in Space" helmet is a modified NASA Mercury helmet. It appeared in several other projectss as well such as Robinson Carusoe on Mars.
cheers Greg, I've got to sort the email out but leaving comments works just fine. I'll look into those two helmets and put a something up for them, pulling the appearances together

ReplyDeleteThere's an unknown story going on there that keeps you thinking about it.
